To obtain a Grade C in your Geography GCSE
- You must have
learnt and accurately recalled information about the case
studies we have used. Eg: The Grand Canyon.
- You should use
geographical vocabulary appropriately in your answers.
Eg:
Meander, urban
and depression.
Use the glossary in your revision
booklet to help you learn how to spell and use geographical words
correctly.
- You must show
that you understand a variety of physical and human geographical
processes. Eg: Erosion,
Urbanisation and
precipitation.

You must show that you understand how geographical processes produce
patterns. Eg: Patterns of urban land use.

You must show that you understand how physical and human processes
help to produce the characteristics of a place. Eg: Land
values and accessibililty produces the CBD.

You must show you understand how people interact with their
environment. Eg: The schemes to manage coastal processes at
Herne Bay and the use of the Grand canyon as a recreational and
tourist facility.

You must show that you understand the importance of sustainable
development of the environment and resources. Eg: Ecotourism in
places like St Lucia.

You must show that you understand how the values and attitudes
of different groups of people affect the decisions they make
about planning and managing resources and the environment.

You must be able to read and interpret graphs and charts. Eg:
line graphs, bar charts and timetables.

You must be able to read maps: using direction, scale and
keys accurately.
Eg:
Ordnance Survey maps, sketch maps.

You must have
completed your coursework
tasks using primary, secondary and tertiary sources of data.
This means you must have
collected data on the field trip and you must have used ICT in your
research and/or write up.
